Sialkot is home to 85% of Pakistani sellers on Alibaba.

Sialkot contributes significantly to Pakistan’s overall yearly exports. The city is well-known around the globe for its high-quality sports equipment, leather clothes, and medical instruments.

According to the Sialkot Business and Commerce Centre (SBCC), approximately 400,000 individuals are directly or indirectly involved in the city’s export business, which contributes $2 billion to the national economy each year.

Muhammad Sadiq, Alibaba’s Pakistan Business Growth Manager, recently claimed that the majority of Pakistani vendors on the Chinese international platform are situated in Sialkot.

Sadiq said during an Alibaba seller conference that Sialkot is home to 85% of Pakistan’s total vendors on Alibaba.

Furthermore, Pakistani vendors have over 3.2 million listings on Alibaba. The clothes and clothing category accounts for 63% of all entries. The remaining listings are divided into sports, entertainment, health, medical, tools, hardware, and minerals.

Song Song, Alibaba’s Country Head for Pakistan, also spoke at the conference via video connection.

He predicted that Pakistan’s B2B e-commerce sector would develop at a 28% annual pace over the next three years.

On the other hand, Song emphasised that Karachi only accounts for 3.3% of total sellers on Alibaba, urging exporters from the country’s economic heartland to move up and alter these dynamics over the next three years.
