There are also rumours that Apple will show off the Apple Watch 8 at its “Far Out” event.
Apple has set a date for the release of its new iPhone.
The new device will be displayed off on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. PT. It is expected to be called the iPhone 14 and have a screen that is always on.

There are rumours that the new iPhone lineup will get rid of the Mini model in favour of a new Max model, which will join the rumoured iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the price could go up by about $100 over last year’s.
Apple may also want to get rid of the notch on the iPhone 14 and replace it with a front camera that looks like a hole and a pill, at least on the Pro models.
Apple may also use the event to show off the Apple Watch Series 8. It is said to look similar to last year’s model, but it will have more health features like a temperature sensor and be more durable.
For the event, the tech giant has invited the press to its Apple Park headquarters in California. It will also livestream the event on Apple.com and other streaming services. As usual, Apple’s invitation to its upcoming iPhone event didn’t say much.
The invitation shows an Apple logo that looks like it’s in the night sky. This could be a hint at improvements to the camera or the rumoured satellite emergency calling from last year. In its announcement, Apple used the words “Far out” as a teaser.
Both the iPhone 14 and the Apple Watch 8 have new features that could help Apple stand out from Samsung and other device makers this year, when competition is expected to be high.
People have been buying less tech gadgets, which has led to surprising low sales reports from chipmaker Intel and sudden drops in ad business for Alphabet, which owns Google, and Meta, which owns Facebook.
They’re not the only ones.
Our trust in the economy as a whole has dropped like a rock because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, constant inflation, and a looming recession. One survey from the University of Michigan found that consumer confidence is at its lowest level in at least 70 years.
This means that Apple will have to work even harder to win over people who just bought a new iPhone. Samsung, on the other hand, made Apple’s job easier when it announced earlier this month that its flagship Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 would be sold at their regular prices of $1,800 and $1,000, respectively. It also added $30 to the price of both the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
So far, Apple doesn’t seem worried. In the last few years, Apple has made the most money during the holiday shopping season, mostly because of how popular the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 are. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has said that people keep buying iPhones because they have good cameras, batteries that last a long time, and software that people like. But he also said that 5G, which Apple started using two years ago and is a super-fast wireless technology, will probably get even more people to upgrade.
During a conference call with investors last month, he told them, “5G has been a driver.” He also said that the technology is spreading in some places, like China, the EU, and the US, but not as much in other parts of the world. So, he said, “I think there’s reason to be hopeful as 5G grows.”
Even though the iPhone will be a big part of Apple’s event this year, and probably what most people pay attention to, the company is likely to also show off other devices. There are new iPads and new Mac computers with faster chips.
