Due to the government’s strict stance on imports, the Pakistani automobile industry has been in turmoil in recent months. Because the letter of credit (LC) was not approved, various manufacturers, including Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), were forced to decrease output to deal with growing costs.
However, the government has relaxed import restrictions, enabling automobile manufacturers to continue manufacturing and sales. According to autojournal.pk, PSMC has begun bookings, but only for business clients.
According to the report, the company has only restarted bookings for the following vehicles:
VXR Wagon
Swift GL Manual Swift GL CVT Wagon R VXL Cultus VXR
This means that bookings for the Wagon R AGS, Cultus VXL, AGS, Swift GLX CVT, and all Alto models are still on hold.
According to the source, the company is still not working at its full capacity and has only supplies for a limited number of units. It is possible that PSMC may reopen bookings for all cars and customers in September.

Kia Lucky Motor Corporation (KLMC) has also resumed automobile bookings after deciding to keep the recently raised prices. According to a dealership representative, the company is accepting bookings for all vehicles with a minimum delivery period of one month.
The restoration of bookings is a good trend for the local automobile sector, and it will almost definitely result in positive sales in the coming months.
