Domestic users who used up to 300 units in June are exempt from paying Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) fees, according to the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).
For August, domestic customers are no longer obliged to pay FPA fees in their invoices. FPA charges for those who paid their bills in August will be refunded in September.
After seeing outrageous FPA charges on their bills for June, many had vigorously objected. As a consequence, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that FPA fees will be waived for users of 201–300 units.
A spokesperson for IESCO stated that the business has helped customers on directions from PM Shehbaz and Minister for Energy Khurram Dastagir in this regard.
According to the spokesperson, IESCO customers who match the above requirements and have submitted their August bills will have FPA costs applied to their September bills without having to physically visit an IESCO office.
The spokesperson made it clear that home customers who used 200 or less units in the previous six months had already received a discount of Rs. 6 per unit in their August bills.
