Due date for filing Income Tax return was 30 September 2022.

Due to the current flood situation in the country, requests from various trade bodies, Tax Bar Associations, and the facilitation of the general public, the Federal Board of Revenue has extended the date of filing of Income Tax Returns up to October 31st, 2022 for all of the taxpayers who were required to file Income Tax Returns by September 30th, 2022. This extension will apply to all taxpayers who were required to file Income Tax Returns by September 30th, 2022.

The deadline has been extended in response to business community requests. The announcement was made by Ishaq Dar, the newly appointed Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, at his first press conference in Islamabad.

During the press briefing, he said that the tax collecting agency received Rs685 billion in tax returns in September.

It was also revealed that the FBR collected Rs1,609 billion in the first quarter (July-September) of fiscal year 2022-23, which was more above the target amount.
