LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the province’s first Veterinary Internship Program 2025, creating job opportunities for 1,000 veterinary graduates and para-veterinarians across all districts of Punjab.

According to the official announcement, the Punjab government has allocated Rs600 million for this initiative. Under the program:

  • Veterinary graduates (DVM degree holders) will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000.
  • Para-veterinarians and Livestock Assistants will be paid Rs40,000 per month during the internship.

Who Can Apply?

✔️ DVM graduates recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
✔️ Candidates with a two-year Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD).
✔️ Applications can be submitted online through the official portal: www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk.

Equal Opportunities Across Punjab

The Chief Minister announced special quotas for Veterinary Assistants, AI Technicians, and Lab Assistants in all 36 districts of Punjab. This ensures fair participation of candidates from every region.

Program Benefits

Maryam Nawaz stated that this program will provide:

  • Hands-on training to young veterinary professionals.
  • Animal healthcare and consultation services directly to farmers.
  • Support for livestock and dairy development, helping increase milk and meat production.

She emphasized that strengthening the livestock sector will not only empower farmers but also contribute to Pakistan’s economy by boosting foreign exchange reserves through improved dairy and meat exports.

“We aim to turn Punjab into a hub of livestock and dairy development. Farmers are the backbone of our economy, and we will continue to stand by them,” said Maryam Nawaz.
