Punjab Approves Recruitment of 8,084 Teaching Interns for Public Colleges

The Punjab Higher Education Department has sanctioned the hiring of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to address faculty shortages in government colleges across the province. The recruitment includes 5% seats reserved for minorities, 3% for persons with disabilities, and 0.5% for the transgender community.

Duration of Engagement:

For Intermediate classes, CTIs will serve from October 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026 (7 months).

For BS programs, the tenure will extend from October 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026 (10 months), or until permanent faculty appointments are made.

Terms and Conditions:

No age limit applies to applicants.

CTIs will be allowed two casual leaves per month.

No TA/DA will be provided.

Appointments are temporary and performance-based, with termination possible for unsatisfactory work.

Recruitment will strictly follow merit, and the submission of forged documents will lead to cancellation and legal action.

Purpose of Recruitment:
This initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted academic activities in Punjab’s public sector colleges during the 2025–26 academic session, bridging the gap until permanent staff are appointed.
