Even though Engineered Arts’ robot has cutting-edge mechanical limbs, ligaments, actuators, and sensor arrays, it’s not going to T-1000 us all any time soon.
The person who makes robots says that “Pure A.I.” is not like anything Ameca has (a.k.a. Artificial General Intelligence).
The robot can, however, be very convincing as a chatbot. And if they want, users can “talk through the robot” from afar.
Engineered Arts says in the video’s description, “This is starting to freak us out, and we’re used to it!” Which is a sentence that makes us think of the movie Ex Machina. And yet another reason why you should never ever touch a robot’s nose.
