BOP employs its first round of differently-abled employees and establishes model branches for people with disabilities.
In line with its goal to becoming an equal opportunity financial institution, the Bank of Punjab has inducted its first batch of differently-abled individuals and created model branches for People with Disabilities (PWDs).
The Bank of Punjab’s President and CEO, Zafar Masud, and top management welcomed new employees and inaugurated model PWD branches in BACHS, Lahore, and Madina Town, Faisalabad.
Senior management also presented onboarding certificates to the first wave of differently-abled people.
In his message, BOP’s President and CEO reaffirmed the company’s commitment to assisting differently-abled people with financial inclusion and emphasised that diversity was deeply embedded in BOP’s DNA.
“We celebrate the variety of thinking, diversity of our people, and diversity in all its aspects, which is the foundation upon which we develop as an organisation and as a nation,” he said.

Diversity and inclusion are central to BOP’s vision and strategy. The bank designated 2021 as “Our People” year and 2022 as “Empathy” year.
In accordance with state Bank of Pakistan’s strategy on financial inclusion for people with disabilities, the bank has remodeled and transformed 20 BOP branches into Model branches for people with disabilities.
Ramps and railings for entering the branch and ATM area, dedicated parking for differently-abled people, talking ATMs, tactile flooring, braille stationery, height-adjusted counters, PWD-friendly locker spaces, and PWD-friendly washrooms are among the amenities.
In all, stairs have been built/installed at 687 of the bank’s 709 branches, accounting for 97% of the branch network.
