Is Rohit Sharma the newest member of Pakistan’s cricket team?

AUSTRALIA: After viewing images of Rohit Sharma in the Pakistan cricket team’s shirt, netizens and cricket fans are asking him whether he has joined the squad.

Ahead of the mega-match between Pakistan and India in the T20 World Cup in Australia on October 23, cricket fans on Twitter are mocking Sharma while waiting for the game.

After Ibraheem Badees, the manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s media and communications department, posted photos on Twitter from the Gabba cricket ground in Brisbane, Australia, wearing Pakistan’s jersey and a pair of sunglasses, tweeps couldn’t help but compare his appearance to that of Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Badeess titled his photographs “Gabba” and included an emoji with sunglasses in his tweet. At first glance, his photographs have a striking similarity to Sharma, particularly when coupled with the pair of sunglasses.

Many Twitter users have nicknamed Badees Sharma’s doppelganger, saying, “Since when has Rohit Sharma joined the Pakistan team?”

“Rohit Sharma is that you???” said one user on the microblogging site.

“I honestly believed that was Rohit Sharma in Pakistan’s uniform,” said another.

While another user, mocking Rohit, tagged him and inquired what he’d done to himself.

Another user said, “Rohit Sharma opted to join PCT following Shaheen Shah Afridi’s spectacular return.”

On October 23, the two main rivals will square off in a T20 event.
