To provide aid Ukraine’s defence against the Russian invasion, Lithuania has provided a Turkish drone.

The drone was donated for free after a Lithuanian broadcaster, Laisves TV, raised the first 6 million euros (£5.1 million) needed to purchase it from a Turkish manufacturer, Baykar.

According to the Lithuanian government, the money generated will be used to equip the drone and help humanitarian relief in Ukraine.

At a military airstrip close to the town of Siauliai in northern Lithuania, the drone was presented. There were sizable audiences in attendance, some of whom had made donations to the cause.
