Mohammad Yousuf Pakistan's will be the permanent batting coach.

Yousuf has been given the role of acting batting coach by the cricket board in preparation for the home series against Australia. Yousuf is now in Sri Lanka with the national side.

At the beginning of this month, the cricket board revealed their interest in appointing former Australian opener Matthew Hayden to the position of batting consultant for the 2017 Twenty20 World Cup.

During the 2021 Twenty20 International World Cup, which was held in the United Arab Emirates, Matthew Hayden served as a batting consultant for the national team. Under Babar’s leadership, the team went undefeated in the group stage and defeated India for the first time ever in the history of the world cup.

Yousuf is generally considered to be one of the best hitters Pakistan has ever produced. In 2006, he set a new record for the most runs scored in a single calendar year with 1,788 runs in tests, averaging over 100 runs each game. This achievement set a new global record.
