
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who extended heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives and large-scale devastation caused by the recent floods in Pakistan, according to Radio Pakistan.
During the call, President Erdogan expressed Turkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan, assuring full cooperation in ongoing rescue and relief operations. He reiterated that Turkey will continue to stand by Pakistan in every moment of crisis and is ready to provide comprehensive humanitarian and technical support.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Turkish leader for his compassionate gesture, describing the conversation as a true reflection of the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye. He emphasized that both nations have a long history of supporting each other during natural disasters and difficult times.
In addition to discussing flood relief, the two leaders reviewed progress on strengthening strategic cooperation and economic partnership between Pakistan and Turkey. They also agreed to maintain regular consultations and confirmed their upcoming meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Leaders’ Summit in Tianjin, China.
