Sindh Government Declares Two School and College Holidays

Due to the expected severe monsoon rains, the Sindh government has decided to shut all public and private educational establishments.

Due to the rain emergency, all schools and institutions in the province will stay closed on the 24th and 25th of August, according to an official notice issued by the Education Ministry.

On August 26, educational establishments in the province will reopen. The news came after the province administration labelled 23 areas disaster-stricken.

The province government has sent the Pakistan Army to help civil agencies with flood relief operations. The monsoon rains this year have wrecked havoc in Sindh, killing hundreds of people and destroying infrastructure worth billions of dollars.

Previously, the Nawabshah and Larkana district administrations announced the closure of public and private educational establishments in preparation of further rain spells in the two towns.
