Some private institutions demand 'Fuel Charge Adjustment' payments from parents.

Some private schools have a reputation for minting money from parents under the pretext of various ‘extra-curricular’ activities, on top of the already high tuition they charge their students.

They’ve come up with yet another clever plan to rip off worried parents. This September, tuition vouchers from some private colleges include a fuel charge adjustment (FCA).

The FCA for a private school mentioned  ranges from a few hundred to a couple of thousand Rupees a year, as shown by the school’s fee vouchers.

Even though parents have voiced great resistance to this move by private educational institutions, they are ultimately forced to pay the fees that include FCA or have their children expelled.

However, due to power outages during the hot month of August, several private school and university administrators have stated they were forced to use diesel-powered generators.

The owners have said that because the load-shedding situation has improved generally, fee vouchers would be delivered in October without FCA.

This is because the majority of parents have already paid the costs for September, which included FCA.

It’s worth noting that all electricity providers in Pakistan got a lot of criticism for charging ridiculously high FCAs on consumers’ bills every month.
