Pakistan’s middle-order has been under scrutiny for under performing in the Asia Cup 2022, and it was also exposed in the first T20I against England.

Mohammad Wasim, the National Chief Selector, also feels unsatisfied with the batting unit and has suggested that changes to the team for the next T20 World Cup in Australia are possible.
While addressing to the media recently, the Chief Selector said that the batting unit is experiencing some difficulties, which is why the committee will try different combinations in the current series against England.

Wasim replied to a query on Fakhar Zaman’s inclusion in the team by saying that he would be fit for the huge event and that if fitness difficulties persist, other names will be considered.

When asked about the performances of Saim Ayub and Sharjeel Khan, he said, “They are among our 18 players but not in our 15.” It is not required to substitute one opening for another.”

Wasim also commented on the present England series, saying that while conditions in Australia vary from those in Pakistan, it would give a fantastic chance for the players to prepare for the World Cup.
