A Twitter user named Connor says that Samsung is going to make phones with no buttons in the future. The next generation of phones from the Korean phone maker might not have a power button or a volume rocker.
This is something that a few concept phones have tried in the past.
Huawei also tried to get rid of the side volume buttons, but not the power button. You could change the volume on the Huawei Mate 30 by tapping on the sides of the screen.
Samsung, on the other hand, wants to get rid of all the buttons and use software for the power and volume keys.
Samsung wants to get rid of buttons that you can touch. Power, Volume Up/Down, and so on.
By using software, all of the buttons will be moved to the in display.
The change will not affect the S23 series that is coming up.
The rumour is that the Galaxy S25 will be the first phone without any buttons. Based on Samsung’s usual release schedule, this lineup won’t come out for another two years. It could also be added to the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 smartphones.
It’s too early to say anything for sure, but the source says that Samsung’s phones without buttons might only be sold to businesses, while regular customers might still get phones with buttons.
Many people may not like the change because they would rather have physical buttons on their phones than virtual ones.
Implementations of software often miss inputs, and this leaves a simple feature open to bugs.
Many people didn’t like the virtual volume buttons on the Huawei Mate 30, for example, because they didn’t work as well as real buttons.
But if Samsung’s implementation works well and consistently, it may be accepted by most people.
