Toyota has officially revealed its new Chinese-market electric sedan. The new car, dubbed bZ3, will compete with Tesla Model 3 and Changan Shenlan SL03.
Toyota’s new electric vehicle (EV) is the result of a collaboration between FAW Group and BYD. The bZ4X, the company’s first EV, was created in conjunction with GAC Motor.
According to various reports, the business plans to unveil its new EV in the fourth quarter of 2022.
The compact vehicle is likely to establish a new niche among inexpensive EVs. With its angular headlights, a DRL that runs across its width, a sharp bumper design, and an unique bonnet, the front end resembles the bZ4X.

Sharp lines, huge multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a pronounced c-pillar characterize the side profile. The rear also boasts some unusual stylistic aspects, such as an asymmetrical bumper and taillights that span the width of the vehicle. Unlike the Prius, the bZ3 seems to feature a trunk rather than a liftback hatch.

The Toyota bZ3 is equipped with BYD’s Blade LFP battery pack, however the battery capacity has yet to be revealed. It will be powered by one of two rear-axle mounted electric motors, one in the lower trim level producing 183 horsepower (hp) and the other in the higher trim level producing 244 hp.

The vehicle will include all of the latest features found in Toyota Safety Sense, such as lane keeping assist, collision warning and avoidance, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, automatic high beam, road sign help, and so on.
Although Toyota has yet to release the pricing of the bZ3, predictions indicate that the EV would compete with China’s low-cost EVs.
