USA launches first flying bike

The first Hoverbike in the world, called XTurismo, made its debut in the USA over the weekend.

The flying bike was made by a Japanese company called Aerwins Technologies. Its exposed carbon fibre panels and razor-sharp body give it a sporty, science-fiction look.

The bike was first shown at the Detroit Auto Show, where it also took its first public flight. It can fly because it has six propeller fans underneath its body.

The fans are run by an internal combustion engine, which gives them a range of about 40 kilometres.

XTurismo weighs almost 300 kg, can go as fast as 100 km/h, and can carry up to 100 kg of cargo.
Reports say that the hoverbike will be improved in more ways. The bike can only go a short distance and stay in the air for a short time.

It is also very loud because of the propellers and the internal combustion engine.

Also, the current laws about vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) don’t let XTurismo be sold to the public.

Even so, Aerwins has set the price of the XTurismo at a huge $777,000. (PKR 1.84 billion).
In 2022, the company will deliver almost 200 Limited-Edition XTurismos and then start making them for sale soon after.
