WhatsApp is Far More Secure and Private Than iMessage: Mark Zuckerberg

Earlier last year, a Google employee chastised iMessage for “green bubble bullying,” and now Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is challenging Apple’s messaging service.

In a recent Instagram post, the executive claims that WhatsApp is “much more private and safe than iMessage”.

” End-to-end encryption is accessible on iPhones and Android phones for group conversations, backups, vanishing messages, and other purposes”.

He reminds out that iMessage does not have these functionalities.

The image shows a WhatsApp advertisement shown at Penn Station as part of a marketing effort that began in January of this year and is now spreading.

The goal is to convince users that WhatsApp is safe and secure thanks to end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp is very popular in most other areas of the globe, but it struggles to compete in the United States, where iMessage and iPhones are widely used.

WhatsApp is also taking on SMS messages in its marketing campaign, saying that, unlike WhatsApp, they are not secure.

According to the advertisement, almost 5.5 billion SMS messages are exchanged everyday in the United States, despite the fact that they are not secure.

One of the reasons for this is because the service is pre-installed on practically every phone. If there is no internet connection available, iMessage will send an SMS.

WhatsApp warned users once again that SMS messages, like iMessage, do not support end-to-end encryption.

In the United States, 5.5 billion SMS messages are still transmitted everyday, however SMS transmissions are not
