Former Pakistan wicket-keeper Zulqarnain Haider has claimed that former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani were engaged in match-fixing from 2008 to 2013.

In an interview, the former wicket-keeper accused Yousaf Raza Gillani of manipulating the second semi-final of the 2011 World Cup against India on March 30 in Mohali.

It should be recalled that India beat Pakistan by 29 runs in Mohali. The match also generated doubts at the time, as the Pakistani squad squandered multiple opportunities for Sachin Tendulkar, who ended with 85 off 115 and eventually helped his team win.

The Men in Green, led by Shahid Afridi, have qualified for a 50-over World Cup semi-final for the first time since 1999, breaking Australia’s record of dominance by beating them in the group stages.

It is worth noting that Zulqarnain was not included to the national team for the 2011 World Cup since he declared his retirement from international cricket in unusual circumstances under 2010.

Former head coach Waqar Younis and Aaqib Javed, according to Zulqarnain Haider, were also implicated in match-fixing, however he kept quiet at the time since the team may have faced serious penalties.
