Xiaomi Unveils Its First Phone Equipped With a 200MP Camera
After weeks of teasers, Xiaomi’s new flagship phones have been official. The new 12T and 12T Pro are part of the Chinese brand’s 12 series of flagships, as the names suggest. The 12T Pro takes the spotlight with its jaw-dropping 200MP camera, a first for Xiaomi and second in the industry.
Apart from the CPU and camera specs, the two phones are almost identical.
Display and Design
In terms of design, the two phones are identical. Both feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p (1220 x 2712 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel supports 1 billion colours, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The fingerprint sensor is located underneath the display, and Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen.
Software and Internals
The regular Xiaomi 12T is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC, which provides excellent performance. Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor powers the 12T Pro. Both phones lack a microSD card port, but they do feature up to 256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM.
In terms of software, Android 12 with MIUI 13.
Cameras
As previously stated, the 200MP primary camera on the 12T Pro is based on the same Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor found in the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. However, unlike its Motorola opponent, the Xiaomi 12T Pro can shoot 200MP photographs far quicker. Instead, the standard 12T must make do with a 108MP sensor.

The secondary sensors are quite conventional, with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor among them. This camera can capture 4K movies at 60 frames per second.
Both phones include a 20MP selfie camera.
Pricing and Battery
The battery specifications are also the same, with a 5,000 mAh cell and 120W super fast charging. This technology can charge the battery to 100% in in over 20 minutes. To back up your gadgets, it also enables wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
Pricing has yet to be determined.
