Alex Hales, England’s opening batsman, has predicted that Pakistan, England, India, and Australia would be semi-finalists in the next T20 World Cup 2022, which begins on October 16 in Australia.
Alex Hales, who returned to the national squad in style with a spectacular fifty in the first T20I after almost three years, expressed these comments during a rapid-fire session with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) digital.
It is worth noting that three of his four projected teams, Australia, Pakistan, and England, all qualified for the T20 World 2021 semi-finals, where Australia defeated Pakistan and New Zealand defeated England.
India, on the other side, has a decent recent record, having won six of seven bilateral series, despite failing to qualify for the semi-finals of last year’s T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup 2022.
England has a poor recent record, having lost three series in a row to the West Indies, India, and South Africa.
Australia, on the other hand, will be the reigning champions in the big event and has a strong previous track record. They started the three-match T20I series against India with a 200-run chase.
Pakistan has also qualified for the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-finals and the Asia Cup 2022 final in the United Arab Emirates.
