The Indian Air Force fired three officers on Tuesday after they unintentionally fired a cruise missile into neighbouring Pakistan.
According to the air force, an official investigation determined that “deviation from the Standard Operating Procedures by three officers resulted in the inadvertent launching of the missile” into Pakistan.
“These three cops have been held primarily accountable for the event. The Central Government has terminated their employment with immediate effect “According to the announcement.
On March 9, India launched the BrahMos cruise missile. It landed in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab region, about 125 kilometres (78 miles) within Pakistani territory, destroying a residential wall. There were no deaths or injuries recorded.
Pakistani authorities requested an explanation from New Delhi, calling the launch a “flagrant breach” of Pakistani airspace.

The fire was triggered by a “technical fault” during normal maintenance, according to India’s military ministry two days after the launch. The occurrence was described as “very regretful” by the ministry.
