Punjab’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Faisal Shahkar, recently inaugurated the City Traffic Police Lahore’s (CTPL) Smart 24/7 Licensing Center at Manawan Lines in Lahore.
Citizens will be able to utilise its services throughout the clock, seven days a week, according to the specifics.
According to IGP Shahkar, the Punjab Police’s primary goal is to provide people with driving licenses while also promoting strict respect to traffic laws.
He also directed that the procedure be streamlined and that additional facilities be made accessible in a transparent manner using current technology.
The IGP made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the new licence centre, which was attended by the CCPO Lahore, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Muntazer Mehdi, AIG Traffic, DIG Operations, DIG Investigation, DIG Special Protection Unit, DIG VIP Security, and other officials.
Furthermore, he advocated for the priority issuance of driving licenses to the elderly and women, as well as collaboration with the system for the Safe City cameras to improve traffic management in the provincial capital.
CCPO Dogar and CTO Mehdi briefed IGP Shahkar on the operations of the newly launched license centre, explaining that services such as new international and learner licences, as well as duplicate, renewal, and license verification, will be transparently provided through the Queumatic Management System (QMS).
Liberty Market now has 22 learner’s booths, six driving test facilities, and a separate licensing facility for women, according to CTO Mehdi.
At the conclusion of the event, IGP Shahkar asked visitors to the centre about the facilities and the behavior of the personnel, and he praised the traffic police for their service delivery. Citizens also expressed gratitude to him for delivering contemporary and transparent services.
