Pakistan will purchase 126,000 Chinese tablets for the 7th Digital Population Census.
Pakistan will import 126,000 tablets from China for the next 7th Population and Household Digital Census, which will take place on December 11, 2022.

According to government papers obtained by Pakmatters, tablet deliveries will begin on August 20 and would be finished in eight batches by December 11, 2022.
Previously, the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) recommended a complete IT Turn-Key Solution for the 7th Population and Household Census. According to current plans, the digital census will be conducted throughout the nation in 628 Tehsils, with roughly 200,000 Census Blocks.
The activity will be carried out utilising android-based smart devices equipped with a House Listing and Enumeration Application that is synchronised with the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Geographic Information System (GIS) (GIS).
On 20 June 2022, NADRA and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) struck a deal to provide an IT turnkey solution for the country’s forthcoming 7th Digital Census. The overall value of the deal is Rs. 13.4 billion.
The Mobilization Advance of 40% of the payment invoice as per the contract has been raised to PBS, however the customer has paid Rs. 2.25 billion.
The first batch of 500 tablets will come on August 20, followed by three batches of 18,500 tablets in October, and two batches of 18,500 tablets in November, according to the papers.
On December 1 and 15, two groups of 18,500 and 14,500 will arrive in Pakistan. NADRA has already arranged for 600 BISP-loaned tablets to be used for trial digital census and training in 83 tehsils.
