Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), which include vans, minibuses, and other light vehicles and lorries with less than ten passenger seats, will still have their fitness certifications issued by a facility close to Mandra. On the other hand, drivers of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) have urged that the local authority ask the facility located at Chur Chowk to issue fitness certificates for their cars as well.
Because of the government’s concern about the level of pollution in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and the regions immediately around these cities, it is making it easier for small commercial vehicles to operate. It has given the law enforcement officers orders to take severe action against automobiles that are not ecologically suitable.
Additionally, the authorities have initiated a stringent crackdown operation against vehicle drivers, conductors, and owners who overcharge clients for their services. Commissioner of Rawalpindi Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has given the order to the necessary authorities to demolish any unlawful terminals that may exist. At this point, the District Regional Transport Authority (DRTA) has demolished 8 unlawful bus stops in the Pirwadhai neighbourhood.
34 First Information Reports have been submitted, 54 cars have been confiscated, and 29 drivers and conductors have been detained for overcharging. The administration has said that the crackdown would continue until they provide new instruction.
