Pakistan is marking its 75th year of independence, and the State Bank of Pakistan has released the Rs. 75 special banknote to commemorate the country’s diamond jubilee.
The central bank announced the unique note on Twitter earlier today, adding, “The note will be available for public issue beginning September 30th, 2022.”
The emerald green currency note has images of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, which is fitting.
The portraits represent Pakistan’s founding members’ struggle for freedom.
Similarly, the back design, designed by Sara Khan, shows the national animal Markhor and the national tree Deodar, emphasizing the importance of preserving our environment and Pakistan’s distinctive flora and wildlife.
The special banknote is as follows:
Based on the recommendations of the SBP Board, the federal government approved the notes in accordance with the SBP Act 1956.
The color scheme, portraits, vignettes along with public service message were conceived by the internal banknote committee at the State Bank of Pakistan and integrated into a final banknote design by the banknote designers at De La Rue, United Kingdom.
The note also has raised printing that can be seen by running fingers across the portraits, a watermark of Quaid-e-picture Azam’s and 75 numeral, Pure image security thread with flashing holographic rainbow effect, and micro-lettering of 75 number, among other security features.
